The Building Research Establishment's Environmental Assessment Method (BREEAM) is the property industry's recognised benchmark for the environmental rating of new and major refurbished buildings. BREEAM addresses wide-ranging environmental and sustainability issues and enables developers and designers to prove the environmental credentials of their buildings to planners and to the market place.
BREEAM covers all aspects of the building design, construction, management processes and the wellbeing of the user. Credits are awarded in nine categories:
KJ Tait Engineers have several trained assessors who are experienced in all aspects of consultancy and offer a high quality cost effective service to our clients. KJ Tait Engineers offer full advice, consultancy assessment and reporting on the following BREEAM Schemes:
Accredited Professional:
In addition to the above services, KJ Tait Engineers have Accredited Professional status illustrating the highest possible BREEAM credentials. This not only allows KJ Tait Engineers to provide detailed and comprehensive advice and support to the Client/Developer on environmental performance and sustainability but also, if appointed early in the design stage, it allows additional BREEAM credits to be awarded.
BREEAM In-Use:
As part of KJ Tait Engineers Sustainability consultancy services, we also provide BREEAM In-Use audit assessments. BREEAM In-Use is a new scheme to help owners and building managers of existing buildings reduce running costs, improve environmental performance and, by making buildings more marketable, increase their asset value and can assist clients with Carbon Reduction Commitment compliance.
Our expertise lies in working closely with the Clients and their Design Team at all stages of the project, from inception through to final certification. This close working relationship allows us to provide ongoing practical and pragmatic advice on how to achieve the best BREEAM accolade at the best cost.
